Survey Particpants Required

Kia ora kaiako,

In your role as an early childhood teacher do you engage with the public library? Are you able to give some of your time to complete a survey questionnaire for a research project investigating the inter-professional collaboration of early childhood teachers and public librarians? Once complete, you can go in the draw to win a $100 book voucher.

Please read the following information before deciding to participate.

As part of the completion of my Masters on Information Studies, this study is designed to investigate the collaborative relationships between early childhood teachers and public children’s librarians. The survey asks you, as an early childhood teacher, about your perceptions of collaboration with other professions. The results will be used to determine whether there is a significant variation in perceptions of inter-professional collaboration between early childhood teachers and public children’s librarians.

Victoria University requires, and has granted, approval from the School of Information Management’s Human Ethics committee for this research.

The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Your response is anonymous and you will not be identifiable in the data or report in any way. The Research Report will be submitted for marking to the School of Information Management, and subsequently deposited in the University Library. All data collected from participants will be destroyed within 2 years of the completion of the project. Your full completion of the survey will be taken to indicate consent.  You can withdraw from the project by closing the survey and your results will not be recorded. Your completion of the survey is taken as giving your informed consent to participate. Any contact information given, either to enter the prize draw or to request a copy of the completed report will not be linked to your survey responses.

The value of the research results depends on the participation of as many individuals as possible. We hope, therefore, to obtain your precious contribution.

If you have any questions or would like to receive further information about the project, please contact me at tibbssama@myvuw.ac.nz , or you may contact my supervisor Dr Philip Calvert, Senior Lecturer, School of Information Management at Philip.calvert@vuw.ac.nz or telephone 04 463 6629.

Ngā mihi,

Samantha Tibbs
