Samoan Fono
He Whānau Manaaki o Tararua Early Education Fono, Samoa 2017
Welcome to the sixth Early Education Fono update, there will be further news, information and guidance in weekly editions of Korero.
Whānau Manaaki Kindergarten Association is pleased to announce that it is running a three day Early Childhood Education Fono in Samoa. The theme for the three-day fono is The Intentional Teacher – “Anofale o le Faiaoga”.
This will be our second International Early Childhood Education Conference held in the Pacific. The fono is on the 12th to the 14th July for all Aoga Amata (Preschool). Teachers will be from Savaii and the main island Upolu. There are 105 Aoga Amata in Samoa and they are affiliated to the National Council of Early Childhood Education who is hosting us.
On the 10th and 11th July 2017 a group of Samoan teachers from Fanau Pasifika, Nuanua, Toru Fetu, Tairangi and Una Williams Kindergartens, and group leaders Caroline Mareko, Andy Cairns and Moamoa Faleafaga will be formally welcomed by the National Council of Early Childhood Education. The group will then gain the opportunity to take part in visits to the Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture, the University of South Pacific, the training school for ECE and early childhood centres in Upolu.
