Irmgard Richie Puppet Show

Irmgard Richie Kindergarten in Upper Hutt enjoyed a wonderful puppet show this week. The Little Dog Barking Company entertained tamariki and teachers with stories and waiata about planting a kowhai tree and practicing kaitiaki and manaaki for the environment. After the show tamariki showed a real interest in gardening and watering plants and the vegetable garden!

She says "thank you to everyone who has wrapped their awhi and aroha around me including the gentle folk of Whānau Manaaki Kindergarten Associations"

Congratulations Lara! We're lucky to have you as part of the whānau!

New Mural at Betty Montford Kindergarten

Over the last few months Betty Montford Kindergarten has been planning, designing and preparing their swing shed for a mural.

Local artist, Wendy Hodder has painted a mural on the front of the kindergarten and tamariki have enjoyed painting their own mural based on Atuatanga and Kaitiakitanga.

Tamariki are proud to share their contributions with whānau and there will be more to come so watch this space!
