About us and our programme 

Nau mai, haere mai and welcome to Bellevue Kindergarten.  Situated in the suburb of Newlands, tucked in behind Bellevue Primary School, we offer mixed age sessions from 2–5-year-olds.  We operate a whānau based approach where siblings can attend together. We love to celebrate the cultures of our whānau within a bicultural programme that embraces te Tiriti o Waitangi.

We believe that our tamariki are competent, capable learners and we seek to challenge them to take safe learning risks in this environment, supporting and and extending their existing skills.  Our environment is set up purposefully every day to provide opportunities for whānaungatanga, manaakitanga and kaitiakitanga to be fostered and developed.

We work hard to support the social competence of our learners utilising the framework of tuakana teina where more experienced children provide a role model for less experienced children.  We are all learners here together!
