Hasn't it been a fantastic few days of weather. Here's hoping it remains and we can enjoy a long, hot summer. Enjoy this week's edition of the Kōrero!
Facebook Tip If you are an administrator to your Kindergarten's Facebook page, try also following community pages from your personal page. This way not only do you get alerts to what’s going on in the community, but when your kindergarten has an event or fundraiser etc you can share details with your local community through the community page.
Christmas Leave The end of the year is fast approaching, and the payroll team have commenced inputting leave requests for all staff for the compulsory leave periods over for the Christmas closedown. You may receive an email advising that your leave has been approved - please don’t be alarmed - this just enables us to get on top of the end of year rush and ensure that all pays can be processed on time over the Christmas/New Year period.

Giveaway Day Ni Sa Bula everyone Whānau Manaaki is holding Give Away Days on Saturday 4th November at Una Williams Kindergarten and Saturday 25th November at Nuanua Kindergarten for the families that we work with. We are very fortunate for the generosity and care we receive from our kindergartens, families, the wider community and networks who give us items that our families would benefit from. Everything we receive is given away to families for free. If you have any items that you would like to give away including clothing, linen, curtains, furniture, electronics, appliances, toys, books, shoes, kitchen ware, jewellery, make up, toiletries, food (tin and packet) etc you can drop them off at the following places near you: - Whanau Manaaki Kindergartens main office (Ask for Tania Braybrook)
- Una Williams Kindergarten: 12 Macara Street Masterton
- Trentham Kindergarten, preferably after 2.30pm and before 4.00pm

Bellevue Kindergarten Moving to Full Year Bellevue Kindergarten in Newlands moved to being open full year in the second week of the October break. The team found they were able to engage in all sorts of small group activities with the children because between five and 15 children attended each day. The also went on lots of walks and had special “holiday” lunches. Another interesting thing they observed was that children who generally wouldn’t have played together during term time, did so in the smaller setting. This then strengthened relationships when the group size increased with the new term.
