Welcome to our latest update of information and stories you may be interested in...

Oh my golly people, this is a tight General Election! Thanks to all of you who have made displays, put stuff on your Facebook pages, and encouraged your families (including your own) to enroll and vote. Thanks also for distributing our Whānau Newsletter Election Special – it is really important that people understand the environment we have worked in for the last few years and the implications of their vote in relation to high quality early childhood education.

It would be great if either today or tomorrow you put something on your facebook page and put out your own notice to families, encouraging them to vote and providing a few facts from the kit and information we’ve already sent you.

If you personally haven’t done anything to contribute to the democratic process to this point, please do so over the coming days – to be blunt, you have no right to criticize what happens in the future if you haven’t actively been involved in this General Election: the personal is political!

Waitangirua kindergarten tamariki had an awesome Maori language week. We would like to share the photo with everyone. 😊

Tamariki made a tipare and wanted to paint a moko on their face like a Maori warrior. We Surprised Maitu on Thursday.

  • Workshop 1: 9.00am to 10.30am Jenny Ritchie: Enhancing teachers understandings of Tātaiako
  • Workshop 2: 11.15am  to 12.45pm Sonja McFarland: Culturally responsive practice that affirms language, culture and identity
  • Workshop 3: 1.30pm to 3.00pm Lucie Zwimpfer: Infant mental health, emotional regulation and brain development

You are welcome to attend the whole Symposium, however, please note that you will need to enrol into each individual workshop on HR.Net as places are limited and enrolment in one workshop will not secure a place in all workshops.
