Connections between people cannot be severed, whereas those of a canoe rope can.

New Online Recruitment and Appointment Tool

You may remember we mentioned in a previous Kōrero that we were rolling out a new way of applying for jobs, this is now live!

All jobs continue to be advertised on our website and the Education Gazette.  But now you apply for vacancies online, through an Apply Now tab at the end of an ad.  You will upload your documents before completing your online application.

As mentioned previously this change means streamlining the vacancy process for our Head Teachers and Senior Teachers and we will continue to support them while they get used to using this tool.

If you have any questions please email Karen Skett at karen.skett@wmkindergartens.org.nz

Election 2020

Some of the WM office staff went down to the North City Plaza yesterday to take advantage of early voting in the election.  There were no queues and it was a great feeling to know we had our say in how the next government would look as well as our say on the two referendums.

Have you voted yet?  You have until the 17 October to do so.

Election Enrolment Stats

Check out the latest stats, up to 30 September 2020, of the number of people enrolled and the number still to enroll.  If you know of anyone not on the electoral roll or who are feeling complacent about voting please encourage them to get on the roll and vote!

Pipiwharauroa Handed Over To Hutt City Kindergartens

The next national Senior Teacher hui will be hosted by the Hutt City Kindergarten Association in April 2021.  You may recall the last hui was hosted by us at our main office in Porirua.

During the week a group of our Senior Teachers and Sharon and Lou presented Pipiwharauroa to the Hutt City Association team.  This beautiful piece of pounamu is handed over to the hosts of the next hui, who will then pass it on to the next hosts once the hui is finished.

It was a great catch up with our STs taking the opportunity to look around Hutt City's new office space.

Aramoho Waiata

This waiata mihi was composed by the team at Aramoho Kindergarten a few years ago.  It speaks of their waka, mauanga, awa and iwi.  Watch the kaiako and tamariki singing it.
