Owhiro Bay Kindergarten
| About Us and Our Programme
Our kindergarten is on site at Owhiro Bay School to create one learning community where the school and kindergarten share knowledge in a partnership that is beneficial to children and families.
Our purpose-built building allows us to cater for children aged 6 months to 5 years of age. Low numbers in our Tipu (under 2) area allow teachers to provide a safe and nurturing environment. Infants are encouraged and supported to develop at their own pace allowing time, freedom of movement and space to ensure this is possible.
In the Puawai (over 2) area teachers ensure that children are stimulated and their learning is supported and extended. Children are encouraged to become active explorers of their environment, to learn through participation both individually and alongside their peers.
