About Us and Our Programme

At Timatanga Hou Kindergarten we embrace the kaupapa of whakawhanaungatanga, a whānau   based approach, where we develop respectful, welcoming relationships with children, whānau and the wider community. These relationships foster and provide an environment that encourages Mana Atua, the emotional well-being of each child.

Our environment shows manaakitanga, where children feel safe and nurtured, where they can build relationships, independence, be accepted for who they are and become confident competent learners.

Out Kindergarten is licensed for infants, toddlers and young children, operating 49 weeks of the year. We operate as a full day model, and

whānau choose the session times which best suits their needs. Our routine is flexible allowing us to work intuitively with children to ensure we meet their individual needs.

SESSION TIMES

Session 1

Monday to Friday:  8.00am - 4.00pm

Session 2

Monday to Friday:  9.00am - 3.00pm

We support children to be successful learners, achieving their potential and having a positive awareness of their identity and support them

to be kind and caring of others, showing respect and empathy, and valuing tuakana/teina relationships. We offer a whānau based inclusive learning environment where children know their voice is heard and they have equitable learning opportunities that are respected.

We support and nurture whānau hopes, dreams and aspirations for each child, supporting them to grow up confident, competent learners.

We work in a fun learning environment and enjoy exploring our large natural outdoor environment.
