Conference Update

Welcome to the fifth Conference update, there will be further news, information and guidance in weekly editions of Korero.

The theme of this year’s two day Staff Conference is Te Ao Māori – The Māori World View: Culturally Responsive Pedagogy.

We are pleased to inform you that we have a wonderful group of Keynote speakers; Fa’anana Efeso Collins, Moana Jackson, Jean Mitaera and Hana O’Regan. In addition we have a number of exciting workshops including Rawiri (Ra) Smith who will be delivering a presentation which discusses the importance of collaboration as a method of bringing New Zealand communities together to work on complex problems. One example of a useful collaborative model is the Powhiri, practiced by Maori for hundreds of years.
